NBC airs some great comedies, and many of them get lots of buzz. One that gets lost in the shuffle is my favorite current show: Chuck. It’s the story of a good-natured, intelligent nerd working in retail who accidentally becomes a spy. With his handlers Sarah and Casey, and his co-workers from the Buy More, Chuck takes on criminals from all over the world. Along the way, he discovers how competent and skilled he actually is. This show is consistently interesting, managing to be sweet and action-packed in a way that few programs have ever managed. In addition, it puts Chuck in situations that we all can identify with– crappy jobs, awkward encounters with ex boy- or girlfriends, and regrets about our education– and turns them into something bigger than events in one man’s life.
