While I admit I go to the 99 cent store for the low price, I am also there for the adventure and the mystery. Why did this bit of USB cabling end up here? Was it an overstock? Did some one lose a big customer? Did they misspell something on the package? Strangest thing I ever found was a Gallon of mustard. I bought two and gave away mustard for a week. Jay Leno on the Tonight Show used to do a recurring feature about the low priced merchandise at these steep discount stores and I think that is what got me started. Last night I was there to get dust masks for a friend, and I zoned out just looking at various bits and pieces. And if the interest in the merchandise falters, the average shopper at these stores isn’t average. Freak show comes to mind. No I guess I won’t tell you my name. It can be a mystery.
