The Office is a comedy centered on a group of employees at a paper supply company. The Office takes place in Scranton, Pennsylvania. The main character, Michael, is the manager of the office. He often gets himself into funny situations, along with the other quirky employees. Among the employees, there is Dwight (the strange beet farmer who has a slight obsession with Michael), Jim (the younger of the employees who sparks up a relationship with the receptionist), Pam (the receptionist, who tries to get along with everyone in the office), Stanley (the grumpy middle-aged man), Meredith (the alcoholic), Creed (the office weirdo), Angela (the cat-loving, know-it-all), Oscar (the office homosexual), Kevin (the overweight monotone employee), Andy (the ivy league graduate), and Ryan (the temp-turned-manager who got fired). Throughout the show, there are funny office pranks that take place. If you work in an office, this is a great show to watch!

My City Always Rises With Me When I Burn

August 28th, 2009

You can have it all sorts of ways in my city: loud or hushed, crowded or lonely, concrete or green, new or old, high or low; if you are lucky enough to have Madeleine Loveliness as your companion for the night, you can have the city all these ways in one night. Let’s say that it is 7 o’clock of a lovely summer’s evening on Friday, and that I have called you up because ML and I are going out for another of her adventures–her adventures, I say, because she always surprises me: she’ll bring over a lamb dinner for us to consume on a blanket in Foothill park under the magnolias, for instance, and then take me club-hopping until midnight, when she’ll insist that we drive aimlessly around the streets in her convertible as she tells me stories about her ancestors in medieval France; do I believe those stories?

Entertaining Week

August 22nd, 2009

Last week to be mentioned is one of the most entertaining weeks I’ve had; so many outings with my friends. My birthday fell in the last week. It was a thorough enjoyment for me along with my friends. We went to beach in the evening and had a very nice dinner party on the day. To say he fact I was born on the very same day when my friend was born 3 years back to me. It was my party on the birthday and the next day was the other one’s party. We went to a movie named “ICE AGE 3″. We had fun time there and went out for dinner again on that day, two consecutive parties for other friends. Next days I had a very tight schedule, to submit assignment and seminar works. Being a student remaining days of the week went in studying. A thorough enjoyment me along with my friends made a wonderful week for me.

Another Evening of Darkness

August 21st, 2009

At approximately 7 p.m. yesterday the lights went out in my room at the Little Rooming House on Foothill Avenue in our lovely city. “Oh great,” I said, “I’ve got too many devices working–R.C. (the manager of the property) is going to pitch a fit.” But when I left my room, I found the hallway dark; I proceeded to the front door to see if the street lights were out; they weren’t–but no lights were on anywhere in the house, and several of the upstairs residents had come down to see what the problem was. Since Giorgio, the resident assistant was nowhere to be found, we called R.C., who screamed, “Don’t nobody touch nothing! I’ll be there in an hour!” Dusk was falling; since I didn’t want to hang out on the porch shooting the bull with the other inmates, I crossed the street to sit on the park wall under a street lamp and read Nicholson Baker’s brilliant novel, The Mezzanine.

A dinner without taste

August 13th, 2009

The food I cook will be tasty but at times salty because we never specify the name of the company while buying salt so this makes my cooking horrible at times and it ends in a fight. Last night my daughter wanted me to make mutton pepper fry and more over this is the only meal we all eat together. My husband got mutton my daughter peeled onions and I did the fry. The meal was served my daughter was the first to taste she kept bending this gave me a surprise as mutton pepper fry is her favorite. My husband started next he was about to say something but my daughter immediately said “Yesterday the food was very salty to compensate it today mum did not put salt daddy” My husband never opened his mouth. All of us ate the meal with no smile on our faces.

Education is Key

August 11th, 2009

I know that education is a big process and we need to study a lot, so that we can achieve what we want in our future. That is how my mind is set to. I am trying to improve myself in every type of work. I love to read, write, and play basketball. That is what I live for. In college I want to be dominant, and get every chance that is provided to me. I am getting inspired every time I see somebody that is better than me, and did something extremely well. That inspires me to do more and get better. I am a type of person that does not want to fail and be down. I try not to be there by studying and be better ever time I need to do something new. I am a person who wants to win. As usual, I drink my coffee early in the morning with the rest of my family. I make the plan for the day.

Perusing For Books

August 6th, 2009

James Patterson is the author for whom I peruse the new book lists at the library. Why? Well, first Alex Cross is one of the greatest detective characters I’ve come across. He is smart and has a great family. The recurring characters (e.g. Sonjei) are evil incarnate. The book where his FBI friend turned on him was also a great twist. It’s also interesting to follow his love life which is challenged to say the least. I also like the variety of books that Patterson produces. I don’t know if he is the font of these ideas but there are a bunch of interesting books tied to him. I do like the murder club with the San Francisco women. Those women are interesting (but not as much as Cross). The other books (e.g., Diary for Nicholas) are okay. Too much for women for me (even though I am a woman).

Getting LOST on Wednesday nights

August 3rd, 2009
Lost (TV series)
Image via Wikipedia

Lost is a show about a group of people that crash on an island and get stuck there for a very long time. A lot of weird, crazy and unexplained things happen on the island like polar bear attacks and seeing dead people. This show really sucks you in because most of the time you feel just as lost as the people on the show and you want to just keep watching to see if something will be explained. Some of them finally got rescued only to go back to the island 3 years later. This year is supposed to be the last year of the show so everyone that watches it is anxiously waiting to see how they wrap everything up. Everyone who watches this show is dying from anticipation.
